Robert Ivy has had a heavy hand in the architectural industry for many years since he first started off his career in the 90’s. In 1996, Robert managed to become one of the editors at Architectural REcord, one of the worlds most prestigious architectural resources for architects the world over. During his time there, Robert Ivy was able to greatly expand the company as well as the number of members they have all over the world reading their material. Today, Robert Ivy is happy in his current executive position at the American Institute of Architects. Find out more about Robert Ivy at Archinect
Robert has managed to make a ton of contributions to the architecture field throughout his journey, whether it was through his own accomplishments or by helping other individuals or companies become more successful themselves. Before he was working at the American Institute of Architects, Robert held a position at McGraw Hill as an editor where he regularly wrote on the architecture subject as well as managed a wide array of different aspects for the company. Robert specifically helped the company grow on an international scale through China and the Middle East.
Recently, Robert was awarded the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement award, which is handed out by the Mississippi Insitute of Arts and Letters on a yearly basis. This year, Robert and one other individual were recipients of the award, though it is not often handed out. Also, most recipients of the Noel Polk award are from the performing industries as well as art, not the field of architecture. This makes Robert Ivy the very first architect to ever win the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement award, adding to his already extensive list. This accomplishment will certainly not be the last for Robert since he is dedicated to helping others in the field of architecture more than he is focused on succeeding in his own right.
