Eli Gershkovitch first opened a brewpub in 1995 in Gastown Canada (https://gazetteday.com/2017/08/eli-gershkovitch-steamworks/). The brewpub was the first Craft beer pubs that incorporated steam-powered brewing. Eli saw a gap of steam-powered brewing in the market and tapped the opportunity to establish one. Although it was not a walk in the park as they were so many legal requirements of establishing such a business in Canada, thanks to his law degree that made it possible for Eli to navigate through the complexities of starting the business.
Today Steamworks brewpub which is solely owned by Eli is a central Vancouver hotspot for locals and visitors alike. The brewery produces a wide range of Steamworks Concoctions such as the Lions Gate Lager and Steamworks Pale Ale among others.
